Gertrude B. (Cieslinski) Wanamaker 93 of Springdale passed into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday April 6, 2024, at Presbyterian Senior Care Oakmont. She was born on November 7, 1930, in Natrona, PA to her parents, Joseph and Veronica (Grayek) Cieslinski. Gert was a graduate of St. Joseph High School Class of 1949. She became a Registered Nurse Anesthetist working at MaGee Women’s Hospital for 25 years. She also worked at Dr. Mock and Associates dental office doing I.V. sedation. Because of her love and concern for the elderly she chose to work as an RN doing geriatric nursing on a part time basis. Most of her career in the medical field was part time so that she could devote more time to her family. After retiring she enjoyed volunteer work, bowling, traveling, reading and yard work. Gert relaxed building and refurbishing doll houses for church raffles. She was a long-time member of St. Alphonsus Church and most recently a member of St. Irenaeus, Oakmont. She was a former member of the resurrection choir, eucharistic minister, Ladies of Charity, Catholic Daughters and hosted the missionaries speaking at the church for many years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill July 11, 1992, Brothers Edward, Stanley, Chester, Leonard, and sister Clara Bandurak. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Rene and JoAnn Wanamaker, nephews William Joseph Wanamaker, Gerald, Stanley, John, and nieces Elaine and Lorraine Cieslinski. Gert is survived by her two daughters who she loved dearly Veronica (Vicki) Wanamaker and Lisa (Dan) Hopf. Furry family Gia Grace. Three nieces Diane (Dan) Dorinsky, Michele (Tim) Keller and their children: Emily, William Christopher, Zachary and Shane and Shelly Cieslinski and her children Adam, Laura, and Emily. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 9 from 3-8 pm at the CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC. 801 Pittsburgh Street. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, April 10th at 10 am at Holy Family Parish, St. Irenaeus Church Oakmont with entombment to follow at Mt. Airy Cemetery Natrona Heights.
