Martha M. (Mitas) Grottenthaler

Martha (Mitas) Grottenthaler, 96 formerly of Springdale died Monday April 1, 2024, in Concordia of Fox Chapel. She was born October 19, 1927. in Springdale to the late John and Mary Hussar Mitas. She and her husband Ed moved to Penn Hills in 1957 and lived there for many years. She worked as a Secretary/ Office Clerk for Bell Telephone where she retired. Martha enjoyed shopping, home arts, travel and was a Tour Guide for Pittsburgh History and Landmark Foundation. Survivors include many nieces and nephews; preceded in death by her husband Edward Grottenthaler, two brothers, John Mitas, Andrew Mitas, and a sister Hilda Mitas. Friends and family will be received on Friday April 5, from 10 am until a blessing service at 11 am at the CHARLES B. SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC. 801 Pittsburgh Street with burial next to her husband to follow in Deer Creek Cemetery Harmar Twp.
