Roxy A. Krumpe

Roxy Marshall Krumpe died peacefully on August 14, 2016 at Longwood of Oakmont. She was born August 27, 1915 in Indianola and passed away a few days short of her 101st birthday. She lived most of her life in New Kensington. She was the wife of Albert Burtner Krumpe and daughter of Mildred Crawford and Walter Marshall. Roxy was preceded in death by sisters Ellen Carson, Ethel Carson, Ruby and Gertrude Marshall and brother Stanley Marshall. Surviving Roxy are daughter Barbara (Rick) Irwin, son Marshall (Susan Tingle) Krumpe, grandchildren Mark (Carina) Irwin, Susan Irwin (Rob) Jones, Todd (Bianca Zickel) Krumpe, and Erin Krumpe, and great-grandchildren Jesper, Malin, Benjamin, Carter and Leo. Roxy was known for her wonderful pies, as a talented seamstress to family and friends, and a gifted bridge partner. For over fifty years she provided hairdressing services to friends and neighbors in her home shop on Mt. Vernon, retiring at age 92! A celebration of her life will be held on August 25th at 2:00pm in the Hanna Health Care Center at Longwood at Oakmont. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church of New Kensington where Roxy was an active member for nearly 70 years.
