Sabina Kovich

Sabina Kovich, 97, of Springdale died Friday September 16, 2016 in Manor Care Monroeville. She was born November 11, 1918 in Natrona to the late Chester & Stella Zmijewski Mieszkowski and had been a resident of Springdale since 1952. Mrs. Kovich was a member of St. Alphonsus Church in Springdale where she was a former member of the Glocke and Mothers Club. Sabina enjoyed bowling, bingo, sports, and especially Pirate baseball. Survivors include her daughter Diane Kovich of Springdale and her son Don (Phyllis) Kovich of Dayton Ohio. Two granddaughters Lindsey & Alison Kovich and two grandsons Timothy & Andrew Kovich. She was preceded in death by her husband Edmond Kovich, her sister Stella Marika and four brothers Casimir, Stanley, Chester and Edmond Mieszkowski. She was the last original family member.The family will receive friends Monday September 19 from 6-9 pm in Springdale at the Charles B. Jarvie Funeral Home Inc. 801 Pittsburgh Street. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday September 20 at 10 am in St. Alphonus Church by the Rev. Thomas Dansak officiating with entombment next to her husband to follow in Greenwood Memorial Park Lower Burrell.
